The Push-Lock Tensioner With Lag Clevis by Ultra-Tec is an exposed, swageless, tensioning fitting that is designed to be face-mounted to wooden posts (with or without sleeves surrounding them) in level and pitched cable runs. It features a more compact design than the comparable swaged Adjust-A-Body fitting and can be used in cable runs with any other type of fitting.
This fitting consists of two separate parts: The Articulating Lag Clevis and The Push-Lock Tensioning Body. The lag is driven into a pre-drilled hole in the face of the wooden end post. The cable attaches to the body of the fitting via the Push-Lock locking wedge system which requires no special tools for installation. The machine thread of the articulating lag then threads into the body of the fitting, connecting the two parts. Tension is created by securing the post-side segment of the body onto the machine threads while preventing the cable-side segment of the body from turning.
While this fitting can be used on pitched or level runs, it is most appropriate for pitched applications because the threaded eye portion of the fitting pivots at the lag, allowing for angled cable runs.
