Ultra-Tec Packaged Cable Release Key For Push & Pull Lock Fittings (1/8" Cable Only) - PL-KEY
The PL-KEY is a release key that is made exclusively for use with Push and Pull-Lock fittings by opening the spring-loaded jaws that grip the cable prior to tensioning.
The PL-KEY is for use when you want to remove the cable from the Push or Pull-Lock fitting during installation and cable-trimming process. Because of its ability to open the spring-loaded jaws, it also is helpful for inserting the cable into the fitting if you are experiencing difficulty during that step.
While this key is very helpful prior to tensioning the cable, it is not effective once the cable has been tensioned. The built-in jaws that are set into the Push and Pull-Lock's tamper resistant design will prevent you (or anybody else) from removing the cable at this point. Additionally, even if the tensioned cable is able to be removed from the fitting, the fitting's locking mechanism is spent and cannot be used again.
