The Adjust-A-Body With Threaded Eye by Ultra-Tec is an exposed, swaged, tensioning fitting that is designed to be used with metal posts in level or pitched cable runs. Because of the tensioning mechanism of this fitting, you are able to use it with any other type of fitting on the opposite end of your cable run.
This fitting attaches to the end post by installing a threaded tab into a pre-drilled and tapped hole in the end post and attaching the threaded eye portion of the fitting to the threaded tab with a button head screw. The cable is retained within the body portion of the fitting by a ferrule swaged onto the end of the cable. The lock nut is then installed all the way onto the threaded eye first, followed by the body, which is secured onto the eye, creating tension on the cable. Once your desired tension is achieved, the lock nut is secured against the end of the body in order to prevent the fitting from slipping and causing slack on your cable.
While this fitting can be used on both pitched or level runs, it is most commonly used in pitched runs because the threaded eye portion of the fitting pivots at the tab.
When using this fitting with 1/8" cable, you must use Ferrule F-8, Mouting Screw SC-8 and Threaded Tab TT-8B. Ferrules, Mounting Screws and Threaded Tabs Sold Separately.
