The Adjust-A-Body With Extended Length Hanger Bolt by Ultra-Tec is a swaged, tensioning, surface-mounted fitting that is designed to be used with level runs that have wooden end posts. Because it is a surface-mounted tensioning fitting, it can be used with any type of fitting on the opposite end of the cable run. Use of this fitting requires an appropriately sized ferrule that is to be swaged onto the cable end. Ferrules must be purchased separately.
This fitting is identical to the Adjust-A-Body With Hanger Bolt Tensioner fittings by Ultra-Tec, however this fitting is specifically made to be used with sleeved posts with an outer diameter greater than 4 1/2". The extended length hanger bolt is 3" long, allowing you to reach past sleeves and drywall in order to find the wooden post or frame underneath.
To install this fitting, you must first drive the lag thread of the hanger bolt into a pre-drilled hole in your wooden end post. The cable is retained inside of the body portion of the fitting by the ferrule that is swaged onto the end of the cable. The lock nut is then installed all the way onto the hanger bolt, followed by the fitting body, which is secured onto the hanger bolt, allowing tension to be created on the run. Once your desired tension is achieved, secure the lock nut against the body of the fitting in order to prevent loosening of the fitting and the creation of slack on the cable run.
