The Ultra-Tec Clip-on Fixed Jaw is externally a duplicate of the similar Fixed Jaw fitting, however this fitting is used for applications where factory swaged fittings are required on both ends of the cable run. What sets this fitting apart is that it does not require over-sized holes to be drilled through the intermediate posts (unlike the Fixed Jaw). This fitting is able to do this because it only requires a maximum 0.250" diameter ferrule to be pre-swaged onto the cable. Once the cable with only a ferrule swaged onto it is run through all intermediate posts to the end post which it will be installed, the jaw of the fitting is slipped onto the cable over the ferrule and clip. The jaw then slides back against the clip, which mechanically prevents the fitting from coming off of the cable run.
Because this fitting can be used in both metal and wooden post installations, there are several different additional fittings that will be required, depending on which application you are using it for. For metal installations, the fitting will attach by installaing a threaded tab into a pre-drilled and tapped hole and attaching the Clip-On Fixed Jaw to the threaded tab with a button head mounting screw. For wooden post installations, this fitting will attach by first installing a lag eye into a pre-drilled hole in the end post and then attaching the Clip-On Fixed Jaw to the lag eye with a button head mounting screw.
For Metal Post Installations, Use Ferrule F-6, Mounting Screw SC-6 and Threaded Tab TT-6B. For Wooden Post Installations, Use Ferrule F-6, Mounting Screw SC-6 and Lag Eye LE-6. Ferrules, Mounting Screws, Threaded Tabs and Lag Eyes Sold Separately.
