The Adjust-A-Body With Threaded Bolt by Ultra-Tec is an exposed, swaged, tensioning fitting that is designed to be used with level runs that have metal end posts. Because it is a surface-mounted tensioning fitting, it can be used with any type of fitting on the opposite end of the cable run. Use of this fitting requires an appropriately sized ferrule that is to be swaged onto the cable end. Ferrules must be purchased separately.
To install this fitting, you must first ensure that the short thread of the threaded bolt portion of the fitting is secured into a pre-drilled and tapped hole in your metal end post. The cable is retained within the body portion of the fitting by the ferrule that is swaged onto the end of the cable. The lock nut is then installed all the way onto the threaded bolt, followed by the body, which is to be secured onto the threaded bolt, creating desired tension on the cable. Once your desired tension is achieved, the lock nut is again secured against the end of the body in order to secure the fitting from loosening and allowing your cable run to slack.
