Swageless Non-Tensioning Fittings
Swageless non-tensioning fittings offer a practical solution for attaching cables in railing systems without swaging tools. These fittings feature a reliable compression mechanism that securely holds the cable, ensuring a clean and professional installation. Unlike tensioning fittings, non-tensioning fittings are designed primarily for cable attachment rather than for adjusting cable tension. They are ideal for applications where cable tension is already set or where minimal adjustment is needed, providing a secure and aesthetically pleasing finish to the railing system without the complexity of tensioning.
Push-Lock
The Push-Lock is a concealed fitting for level runs between metal and/or wood posts. It is compatible with 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable but must be used with a tensioning fitting on the opposite end of the run. The Push-Lock will accept the cable, keeping it in place with special locking-wedge technology, requiring no special tools. Installation requires pre-drilling a hole into the post and inserting the fitting with a Delrin washer for metal posts or a stainless-steel washer for wood posts. Then, secure the cable to the other end of the fitting.
Shop NowPush-Lock Threaded Bolt
This fitting is exposed or face-mounted, suitable for level runs, and available for 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable. It must be used with a tensioning fitting on the opposite end of the run, installed by pre-drilling and furnished with a Delrin washer for metal posts. Installation is simple: predrill a hole in the metal post for the threaded bolt & attach it with a Delrin washer. Then, insert the cable into the other end of the fitting. The cable is secured thanks to the special locking-wedge system, requiring no special tools.
Shop NowPush-Lock Threaded Clevis
The Push-Lock Threaded Clevis is designed for level or pitched runs between metal posts. Compatible with 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable, it must also be used opposite any tensioning fitting. Installation for this fitting is straightforward: predrill a hole for the threaded clevis and secure it to the post. Then, the cable is inserted into the other end of the fitting, which will use its locking-wedge technology to hold the cable in place while maintaining tension. No special tools are required, and the Clevis design allows you to adjust the pitch angle.
Shop NowPush-Lock Lag
This fitting is face-mounted, suitable for level runs, wood posts, and 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable. It must be used with a tensioning fitting on the opposite end of the run. Installation is similar to many of these fittings. We recommend that for the tightest fit, the lag head be drilled into the wood post, or for wood posts with composite sleeves, the sleeve and post be pre-drilled. Then, the cable can be inserted into the other end with the fitting installed. The cable will stay in place thanks to the locking-wedge system within.
Shop NowPush-Lock with Lag Clevis
This fitting is designed for level or pitched runs and 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable between wood posts. The Lag Clevis allows it to adjust to any pitched angle, though it must be used opposite of a tensioning fitting. It is also available as an extended lag model with composite sleeves. To install, pre-drill a hole into the post and insert the threaded lag. Then, the cable can be inserted into the other end. It is locked in place via the locking-wedge system, which grips the cable and creates tension when the cable is pulled.
Shop NowPull-Lock
The Pull-Lock is a unique fitting designed for a convenient installation, allowing the cable to pass through before cutting. It can be used for level or pitched runs between wood and/or metal posts and is compatible with 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable. The Pull-Lock will require a tensioning fitting on the opposite end of the run, a Delrin washer for metal posts, or a stainless-steel washer for wood posts. Insert into a pre-drilled hole and insert the cable. The cable is secured via the locking-wedge system, and then you can cut the cable and replace the lock nut/cover cap.
Shop NowPush-Lock with Concrete Anchor Bolt
This fitting is similar to the Push-Lock with Threaded-Bolt but designed for concrete installation. It is suitable for use on level runs only, available for 1/8" and 3/16" diameter 1x19 stainless steel cable, and must be used across from a tensioning fitting. To install, pre-drill a hole in the concrete and place the concrete anchor (recommended: Red Head Concrete Anchor, found at many building supply retailers), then drive the Push-Lock fitting into place. Then, the cable is inserted into the other end of the fitting, secured thanks to the locking-wedge technology.
